OUR STORY
I met Noah on a dating app of all places! The intention was never to date anyone but to smuggle myself some free alcohol as I was just a freshman in college. As we talked more I realized that Noah and I had many similarities. We graduated from the same high school class, had the same birthday, and lived five minutes away from each other in our hometowns. I knew that I had to meet this boy and was pretty confident that he wouldn't turn out to be a serial killer. I invited him to come to a football game at Boise State with a group of my girlfriends and the moment I saw Noah I felt drawn to him. We hit it off instantly and our relationship came so naturally. We dated for 3 months in Idaho before Noah graduated from North Lineman College and was set to move back home. I knew that what we had was special so I was determined to make it work. Our long distance relationship lasted for five months before I moved back home. Over five years have passed since that first day I met Noah and I am still just as infatuated with him today as I was then. We have been through so many seasons of life together, the good and the bad, however I wouldn't trade a single second of any of it. Now I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend by my side.
THE PROPOSAL
The conversation of getting married came up one day shortly after Katlyn and I had moved in together in our new apartment in Sacramento. Things were falling into place just how I had hoped they would for many years. Katlyn had graduated with her Bachelors degree from Cal State San Marcos and had a great job. I myself had received a promotion and was able to support myself and Katlyn comfortably and was close to getting my Electrical Engineering degree. We felt like we were both ready but Katlyn didn't want to know any more details besides that!
For our five year anniversary we went back to the place where we first fell in love, Boise. We shared a wonderful week of hiking, biking and visiting our favorite spots. Now Katlyn was a little suspicious that something might happen on this trip, probably because of the fact that myself, one of her friends, and her mom all happened to mentioned it would be a great time to get her nails done for no apparent reason, subtle right? Regardless, on October 17, 2022 we headed to the pumpkin patch where we had one of our first dates five years prior. It was a special place to both of us but especially to me because its the place where I started to fall in love with Katlyn. Little did she know as we approached the pumpkin patch that I had a surprise waiting for her. A personalized picnic set up just for the two of us so that we could enjoy this special day. We sat down and Katlyn immediately knew something was up from my beat red cheeks. They had accidently set up the picnic in probably the most populated area of the pumpkin patch and between being looked at by everyone and knowing Katlyn wanted a private proposal I was a little nervous to say the least. But with some quick thinking I pulled us into the privacy of the corn maze nearby and dropped down on one knee to ask her to be by my side for the rest of our lives. Despite the last minute change of location she said yes and here we are!
